Wanderburg Biomes
Keep environment, difficulty, and overtime separate when planning the next region or comparing a run.

Grassland

biomesDark Forest
A region whose second and third difficulty enemy compositions were changed to fewer, stronger enemies in hotfix 0.9.6.
biomesDesert
A biome with an overtime phase. Hotfix 0.9.8 revised Desert overtime and strengthened the Overtime Mortar.
Keep region, difficulty, and overtime separate
Grassland, Dark Forest, and Desert are in official material. A biome describes an environment, but the difficulty variant and the decision to continue into overtime also affect what you are comparing. Record all three when reading a guide or describing a run.
The official press kit describes a procedurally generated map. A screenshot can show the appearance of a region, but it is not a reliable coordinate guide for your own attempt. This archive therefore avoids made-up fixed routes and spawn maps.
Our preparation advice therefore concerns reading the current space and threats, while the region records retain only the distinctions supported by official material.
The map is procedurally generated. Read the current terrain and nearby enemies instead of following a fixed route from another attempt.
Grassland and the Meadows difficulty label
The launch-week notes refer to Grassland 1, 2, and 3. They identify Grassland Difficulty 2 as Meadows and say it was made easier in 0.9.9. Meadows is not duplicated here as a fourth biome.
The same update mentions Taurus Drillus in a Grassland 2 adjustment.
Dark Forest difficulty composition
Hotfix 0.9.6 changed Dark Forest difficulties 2 and 3 to fewer, stronger enemies. That is a concrete reason to avoid judging pressure by enemy count alone. A less crowded scene may still demand careful positioning.
As editorial preparation for a different enemy composition, observe the first unfamiliar opposition before making assumptions from the previous region. Consider whether your usual attack leaves enough opportunity to move afterward. This is a reason to reassess your approach, not a claim that a particular module counters every Dark Forest enemy or that the biome requires a named build.
Desert and overtime
Desert was introduced in an official preview and is referenced by the release-week overtime changes. Hotfix 0.9.8 strengthened the Overtime Mortar and changed its projectile flight behavior.
For preparation, distinguish completing the ordinary objective from testing how long a setup can survive afterward.
When comparing two runs, first match the region label, then the difficulty, then whether the result concerns normal play or overtime. Only after that should you compare the equipment. Otherwise a change in the encounter conditions can look like a change in build strength. Use the progression guide when choosing a challenge and the encounter guide when the immediate problem is surviving it.
Category questions
How many biomes are confirmed in this archive?
Three: Grassland, Dark Forest, and Desert. This is the set used by the archive, not a promise that no additional environment exists.
Is Meadows a separate biome?
The official 0.9.9 note labels it Grassland Difficulty 2. It is treated as a difficulty label here.
