Choose a priority for your next run

For beginners, our first priority is dependable offense you can use while steering. Next comes a response to the threat causing trouble, followed by specialized combinations once the basic setup feels comfortable.

These are editorial recommendations for Early Access, not official rankings. A first clear, a captain-learning run, and overtime survival call for different priorities. Use the module and captain pages to choose for your own goal.

What makes a choice useful

Consistency means an effect can be used under ordinary conditions. Survivability concerns the mistakes a setup can recover from. Damage contribution asks what an item actually adds to the attacks you use, not just whether its tooltip contains a large number.

Ease of use, flexibility, synergy, and boss performance complete the picture. A demanding ability may be excellent for a practiced player and a poor recommendation for someone still learning the vehicle. A pairing must have a interaction before it is described as a proven synergy.

Use the criteria in order of importance to your goal rather than inventing an average score. For a first-clear attempt, you might prioritize whether you can apply a choice reliably and recover after a mistake. For an experienced ability-focused player, usable timing may deserve more weight. These are editorial priorities, not hidden numerical weights or official rating rules.

A useful recommendation should name both the favorable case and the case in which you would choose something else. If it demands a committed approach, describe that cost rather than presenting a successful hit as the whole result.

CriterionQuestion to ask
ConsistencyDoes the useful behavior occur reliably?
SurvivabilityWhat happens when the approach goes wrong?
Damage contributionWhich attacks benefit in this actual setup?
Ease of useCan the player apply the benefit while steering?
FlexibilityDoes the choice work outside one narrow condition?
SynergyIs the interaction established or just plausible?
Boss performanceWas it evaluated against the same encounter and difficulty?

Recommended order of decisions

1. Secure an offensive action you can apply reliably. A powerful action that repeatedly leaves you in danger is a poor fit for a learning run.

2. Address your main survival problem. Consider projectile control when incoming shots are the issue, or a less committed approach when close attacks are leaving you exposed.

3. Add specialized interactions once the basics work. Check the artifact trigger and captain tradeoff against the actions you actually use. This order prioritizes a coherent setup over chasing a famous item name.

Comparison questions

What should I prioritize first?

Reliable offense, then the defensive or control role your run needs most. Add specialized interactions after those basics work.
